Get to Know Julie
Julie Havener (she/her), LMHP
Hi, I’m Julie! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner at Serenity. It takes courage to enter therapy, and I seek to provide a safe space where individuals can share their stories, hopes, fears and dreams without judgment. I believe every person is the expert on their own life, and my approach to therapy is built on listening and partnering with individuals to achieve the goals they identify as most important.
I have over 20 years of experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, and I am passionate about helping individuals rebuild from the destructive impacts of all forms of interpersonal violence. Often those impacts can linger and haunt us for many years, even if we have been able to find physical safety. It is never too late to step onto a path of healing.
I am also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, and I love integrating awareness of one’s unique personal strengths into therapy and healing. Focusing on strengths and resilience does not mean minimizing or ignoring our pain or struggles. When used genuinely, awareness of our strengths allows us to acknowledge and accept our painful experiences and emotions, while uplifting the unique aspects of our authentic self that can help us heal and move forward.
On a Personal NoteWhen I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my inner circle of family and close friends. I find so much peace in the beauty of nature and love to be outside whenever I can. I enjoy live theater and music, and love attending outdoor concerts in the warmer months. I also find it very important to intentionally build time for self-reflection, reading and journaling into my life.
